Promoting Industry Standards

Helen has worked as a member of the Habia Beauty Therapy Skills team at exhibitions and educational roadshows demonstrating a range of industry skills to help promote and educate people about skills and standards within the industry.

She was also part of the team writing the new UK NVQ standards that commenced in August 2010.

is the UK Government approved Standards setting body for Hair, Beauty, Nails, Spa Therapy, Barbering and African-Caribbean Hairdressing and creates the standards that form the basis of all qualifications including NVQs, SVQs, Apprenticeships, Diplomas and Foundation Degrees as well as industry codes of practice.

Helen McGuinness Health & Beauty Training International (formerly known as The Holistic Training Centre) was established in 1992 by the Principal Helen McGuinness, who recognised the need for developing comprehensive part-time training programmes in complementary therapies and beauty therapy to meet industry and client requirements.

Helen McGuinness Health & Beauty Training International is committed to providing comprehensive training for students of all ages and backgrounds and is a specialist training provider in the field of Complementary Therapies and Beauty Therapy.

All courses are taught to practitioner level which will enable you to gain marketable skills and practice professionally, and will gain you recognition nationally, as well as internationally.

The Centre is one of the leading providers of training programmes in holistic therapies and beauty therapy and acts as industry consultant to many organisations and individuals seeking expertise of training in these fields.

All courses run at the Centre are modular based on a flexible learning programme, which may be easily fitted into a busy schedule.

Courses can be linked together to build an individual learning programme, offering the maximum amount of flexibility.

The Centre is different to most Further Education Colleges as students can access courses throughout the year and can complete training in a shorter time frame, as all courses are intensive.
