Course Booking Terms and Conditions

 

  1. In order to apply for a course, you can either telephone us on 023 8026 6448 to request a booking form or click on the email link on the course pages to request a booking form. In order to confirm a course booking, a non-refundable booking fee as stated in item 2 is required along with the completed booking form. (Please note - as course places are limited we can only confirm a course booking subject to our receipt of a fully completed booking form and the relevant course deposit. Places are also subject to availability at the time of booking)

  2. For individual applications, a fully completed booking form should be submitted along with a deposit of £50 per ½ or 1 day courses, £80 per course for 2 day courses, £100 for NVQ Level 2 Beauty Therapy and £135 for NVQ Level 3 Beauty Therapy.

  3. Course payments can be made by cash, cheque. credit / debit card or PayPal.

  4. After applying for a course and paying the deposit, any balance of fees will then be advised along with confirmation of your course place and are payable in full 7 days prior to the course start date. If you are undertaking a course spanning 2 or more months in duration, you may request to pay the balance of the fees by instalments over the time you are training. Details are provided upon request. If paying in full then confirmation and a receipt will be forwarded to you upon booking.

  5. Students attending courses, which are of 2 months or more in duration, may be offered, solely at the discretion of Helen McGuinness Health & Beauty Training International Training International, the facility to pay course fees by instalments. All course fees that are payable by instalments, must be paid in full prior to the scheduled end date of any course which has been commenced.

  6. In the event of a student withdrawing from a course or assessment, all outstanding fees must be paid in full at the time of the students’ withdrawal. Helen McGuinness Health & Beauty Training International cannot accept any withdrawals unless they are in writing.

  7. Any cancellation received more than 4 weeks prior to the course start date shall entitle Helen McGuinness Health & Beauty Training International to a cancellation fee equivalent to the course booking fee. Cancellations received 4 weeks or less prior to the course start date, shall entitle Helen McGuinness Health & Beauty Training International to a cancellation fee equivalent to the full course fee. Helen McGuinness Health & Beauty Training International cannot accept any course cancellations unless they are in writing.

  8. In the event of a student failing to attend or complete a confirmed appointment, course or assessment, for any reason, however so determining, no refunds will be made by Helen McGuinness Health & Beauty Training International and no entitlement to a later date appointment, course or assessment will be applicable to the student.

  9. Any payments due to Helen McGuinness Health & Beauty Training International which become in arrears by 7 days or more will result in suspension of tuition. Helen McGuinness Health & Beauty Training International will at its discretion, charge interest on outstanding fees at a rate of 2% above Lloyds Bank base rate, on a daily basis, until all outstanding monies have been paid.

  10. Course fees include tuition, training materials, resources, manuals and handouts as deemed appropriate by Helen McGuinness Health & Beauty Training International for each course. Tea / coffee will also be provided during attendance at the centre. Any other items, facilities or resources supplied by Helen McGuinness Health & Beauty Training International, at the request of the student, which Helen McGuinness Health & Beauty Training International does not deem to be included in its advertised course fee, will be charged at an additional cost that shall be met by the student at the time of the request.

  11. Course fees do not include additional items where required, such as student workwear or practical items such as beauty kits for home practice. These items are an additional expense and are met by the student. The training centre is able to provide information for purchase of these items at reduced rates from wholesalers.

  12. In certain circumstances it may be necessary for Helen McGuinness Health & Beauty Training International to reschedule or cancel a course due to insufficient numbers upon which a booking has been made. If the rescheduled dates of the course are not convenient to you, Helen McGuinness Health & Beauty Training International’s liability will be limited to a refund only, of the course fees paid.

  13. Helen McGuinness Health & Beauty Training International reserves the right to alter the course venue and timetable where unavoidable / necessary at any time.

  14. Helen McGuinness Health & Beauty Training International reserves the right to alter the course contents and structure where unavoidable / necessary at any time.

  15. Helen McGuinness Health & Beauty Training International reserves the right to determine the numbers of attendees on a course at any time.

  16. Helen McGuinness Health & Beauty Training International reserves the right to decline applications for valid reasons.

  17. All confirmed course bookings are non-transferable.

  18. It is acknowledged that all intellectual property rights, including copyright, patents, design rights and know-how in or relating to the course or course materials provided or made available in connection with the course, remain the sole property of Helen McGuinness Health & Beauty Training International. No copies of course materials or any usage of or reference to Helen McGuinness Health & Beauty Training International’s name may be made unless it has been agreed in writing by Helen McGuinness Health & Beauty Training International

  19. All students are required to observe and abide by all policies regarding health and safety, security, student conduct and any other regulations as set out by Helen McGuinness Health & Beauty Training International.

  20. Once a booking has been accepted and confirmed by Helen McGuinness Health & Beauty Training International, the applicant is then solely responsible for any forfeiture if they are unable to successfully complete a course due to with holding information or details which affects their attendance on a course. The applicant / course attendee will be solely responsible for any costs incurred by Helen McGuinness Health & Beauty Training International in order, where possible, to address a situation arising due to the applicant / course attendee withholding information that affects their attendance on a course.

  21. It is the course applicant’s responsibility, having referred to relevant sources of course information, to ensure that the course in all of its aspects is suitable for their requirements. Helen McGuinness Health & Beauty Training International is happy to provide advice but accepts no liability in the event that the content of the course, any changes to course timetables, structure or cancellation where necessary does not meet individual requirements. Once an application has been received and processed by Helen McGuinness Health & Beauty Training International and a course place allocated, the applicant will be subject to and in agreement with all conditions as set out herein by Helen McGuinness Health & Beauty Training International.

 


 

Students undertaking assessments leading to NVQ and or VRQ Qualifications

 

  1. In order to register for an award, a non-refundable assessment fee/s as advised by Helen McGuinness Health & Beauty Training International is payable along with the completed assessment booking form.

  2. All assessments for VTCT qualifications must be booked and paid for within 4 weeks of completing the course appertaining to the award that you wish to achieve.

  3. Under circumstances where you do not attend your confirmed assessment or request a change of your confirmed assessment date/s for reasons that Helen McGuinness Health & Beauty Training International considers you are unable to avoid, you will be required to provide sufficient explanations why and / or evidence such as a medical certificate in the case of illness, in line with centre policies and awarding body external verification procedures.

  4. Non-attendance of, cancellation of, or requests you make to change your confirmed assessment date/s, for reasons that Helen McGuinness Health & Beauty Training International consider you could have avoided, will result in forfeiture of your assessment and fees paid.

  5. Reasons for non-attendance, cancellation of, or requests for change of a confirmed assessment date/s must be provided in writing.

  6. In all events, due consideration will be given by Helen McGuinness Health & Beauty Training International (and where applicable the awarding body) but please be aware that once your assessment has been scheduled and confirmed, if you do not attend your assessment, cancel your assessment or request a change of your confirmed assessment date/s, you will be subject to any costs that arise, alternative date availability that can be accommodated within the centres timetabling where possible and any awarding body external verification requests for issuing certification. However, no guarantee to accommodate missed assessments can be provided and you will be subject to forfeiture as aforementioned.

  7. Due to prior registration and ordering of assessment documents from the Awarding Body, once a booking has been confirmed and payment accepted, Helen McGuinness Health & Beauty Training International is unable to refund any assessment fees paid

  8. In the event of a student failing to attend or complete a confirmed assessment appointment, for any reason, however so determining, no refunds will be made by Helen McGuinness Health & Beauty Training International and no specific entitlement to a later date assessment will be applicable to the student.

  9. Helen McGuinness Health & Beauty Training International reserves the right to alter the assessment venue, date or times where unavoidable or necessary at any time.

  10. Helen McGuinness Health & Beauty Training International reserves the right to alter the assessment contents and structure where unavoidable or necessary at any time.

  11. Helen McGuinness Health & Beauty Training International reserves the right to determine the numbers of attendees on an assessment at any time.

  12. Helen McGuinness Health & Beauty Training International reserves the right to decline assessment bookings for valid reasons.

  13. It is the applicant’s responsibility, having referred to relevant sources of information, to ensure that the assessment in all of its aspects is suitable for their requirements. Helen McGuinness Health & Beauty Training International is happy to provide advice but accepts no liability in the event that it does not meet individual requirements. Once an assessment booking has been received and processed by Helen McGuinness Health & Beauty Training International and an assessment appointment allocated, the applicant will be subject to and in agreement with all conditions as set out herein by Helen McGuinness Health & Beauty Training International.

  14. It is the students’ sole responsibility to ensure that they are fully prepared for their assessment and that they adhere to the criteria for undertaking assessment as defined by Helen McGuinness Health & Beauty Training International. Students not adhering to the correct assessment requirements will result in the student being marked as not yet competent and will require the student to re-attend for assessment at a later date, which will incur additional cost to the student.

  15. Once an assessment has been accepted and confirmed by Helen McGuinness Health & Beauty and it is subsequently discovered that you have withheld, omitted or falsified information on your assessment booking form, whether intentionally or unintentionally, which affects your assessment and certification, you will be solely responsible for all costs, actions required and or any forfeiture relating to your qualification, arising due to information you have withheld, omitted or falsified.

  16. Students attending for assessment should ensure that they are fully prepared for written and practical assessment as per the assessment guidance provided by Helen McGuinness Health & Beauty Training International.

  17. Students must wear the correct professional workwear and footwear.

  18. Students should ensure that they have their hair tied back appropriately, have short, unvarnished nails and have a minimum amount of unobtrusive jewellery.

  19. Portfolios submitted for assessment must be presented correctly and fully completed.

  20. Students must ensure that they commence and finish their assessment on time. Students who do not commence their assessment at the scheduled time due to their own tardiness will not be permitted to undertake the assessment and will forfeit their assessment and any fees paid.

  21. Students are required to complete their assessments / award within a 1 year timescale of first registering for an award with this centre.. This can only be extended if circumstances arise that Helen McGuinness Health & Beauty Training International considers as unavoidable. In this instance due consideration will be given by Helen McGuinness Health & Beauty Training International as to options for extending the timescale, however, if no suitable options are available it will be at the students forfeiture if they do not undertake their assessment on the confirmed scheduled date.
